New Year, New Job

What’s up everyone? I’m back on the blog again after a lengthy gap. It’s now been two and a half months, so I can probably safely say my New Year’s Resolution of trying to blog at least once a week is a non-starter, really.

With that said, there’s more to come with a couple of reviews and my usual end of year roundup.

Today, though, I wanted to talk about the news I shared on social media right before Christmas – I’m leaving Dexerto in January.

It’s rare to be in a position where you leave a job and are genuinely sad to be doing so, because being Dexerto’s Games Editor has been my dream job. It’s been a chance for me to grow my skills, and expand the company’s reputation in the gaming space, and I’ve been lucky to work with the most wonderfully passionate and kind team possible.

So, what’s next? Well, it’s a big step.

I’m moving to become the Editor-In-Chief of GGRecon, a relatively young site that I’ve admired for a while, and that is full of potential. From discussions with the team there, I think I’m going to be very happy, and I can’t wait to get started on January 23.

Anyway, what else? Oh, I went to Singapore!

I hate flying, am not great at travelling alone, and had never been further than Europe – but I had one of the most incredible experiences of my life.

I made friends, saw an absolutely beautiful part of the world, and got to fly back just in time for Christmas. I’m just about over the jet lag now, too!

The rest of my life remains pretty much the same; I parent, I partner, I work out, and I work on freelance projects when I’m not in the day-to-day. But, after our second Christmas in our little house, it feels like life couldn’t be better – we’re happy, healthy, and that’s all we need.

Ciao for now,

L
