Home, Sweet Home

Folks, we did it.

I’m writing this from the lounge of our new house. The move almost fell through weekly, and somehow we got there – or, here.

Huge thank you to my parents and for my good friend Matt for helping us move on Friday, and to Frankie’s mum for looking after Jackson. It was a hell of a day, and we’ve barely stopped since.

Broadband was switched on today, meaning I finally got my first day in the office I’ve been envisaging in my mind every minute I was working 15 hour days in the corner of our bedroom. There’s more to be done, but it feels like home – especially Jax’s bedroom.

I went out for my first run in the neighbourhood today. We have a nature trail around the corner, and that means I get to enjoy views like this.

It’s the little things, though, that mean I know we’re going to be happy here. Jackson can have picnics in the garden, or he can learn to swim in the pool. I can leave work behind when I leave the office, since it’s in a separate building. Frankie and I can watch TV and chat without worrying about waking Jax up because he’s upstairs.

I’m honestly not sure I’ve ever been happier than I am in this moment, and I’m pretty sure Frankie feels the same. As the sign above the stairs says, ‘this house is full of love and laundry’.
