New Fuel, New Project

Hey everyone,

The hardest part of any relapse is feeling like you almost made it out. This morning I had my first breakdown in a fair while, owing to general anxiety. That feeling of wanting to bury myself under a duvet all day was rough, but I’m thankful I have Frankie as my rock – and Jackson being the chatty, gentle soul that he is.

I’ve been working hard in recent weeks on fitness and I’m pleased to say the weight is starting to come off. It’s probably the hardest I’ve been training in years, although now that I’m 31 I probably need to give myself a bit more recovery time.

In any case, I’m pretty proud of my progress so far.

I’ve not trained like this since I was 27, and back then I was running on hate, spite, and a desire to prove people wrong. Now I run on a much cleaner fuel – wanting to be healthy for my son, both mentally and physically. Fatherhood is a hell of a pre-workout.

I also had my work in the paper again, which was very cool.

Oh and one more thing…

It seems crazy to be writing this, but August will be my last month working at Gfinity.

Honestly, it’s hard to walk away from a dream job, even more so when it’s a dream job with an amazing team. It’s been an incredible experience watching the site and the network grow, but now feels like the right time to step aside.

I’m thankful for all the opportunities I’ve been given, and hope that I’ve helped build the reputation of the site in the time I’ve been there.

As for what’s next, I can’t say too much right now, but it was an opportunity that I couldn’t turn down. For now, though, I’m looking forward to giving 110% for Gfinity as I have done since I started in early 2020.

Thanks for reading,
