Bench Your Burdens

What’s up everybody? Dropping a new blog a little late this week – Jackson has been poorly with a chest infection, and work has been hectic.

Anyway, you may have noticed that I’ve started a fresh Instagram account: @benchyourburdens

The idea is to separate my normal, family focused content for everyone and my fitness posts that likely send many people to sleep.

I’m hoping to help inspire folks like myself that maybe aren’t too confident to spend some time working on themselves. I’m not doing it for anyone other than myself, but as a fan of oversharing, it’s there for all to see.

The name refers to how physical activity helps centre me mentally. Things you can expect:

  • talk about workouts
  • requests for fitness advice
  • progress photos
  • the very occasional possibility of reviews of fitness tech, supplements, and clothing

Things you shouldn’t expect

  • rock hard abs – I’m a Dad, I work, I run a business, i podcast, and I blog. I also love food, and I know my limits.

If you get a chance, it’d be great to get a few more followers.

Honestly, after feeling pretty low over the last few days, heading to the gym and hitting a deadlift PB inspired me to finally take the plunge and make this account. Here’s hoping I can stick to it.

For now, here’s 120kg for three reps (managed to hit 140kg just before this, too).
